Happy start of Summer FRFFers,
We will be announcing our full slate of 24 confirmed GRASSY HILL EMERGING ARTIST SHOWCASE artists next week on our Facebook page.
Before that though, I just wanted to share some AMAZING MUSIC up and down the folk spectrum here in the northeast this coming weekend – it’s hard to pick just ONE! Even though we are up to our eyeballs in FRFF day and night right now, we are going to take in some of it.
First up on Fri June 21 is the incomparable, 2 time grammy-winning JIM LAUDERDALE with his band The Costellos (plus special guests), 8:30 PM at one of our fave listening rooms in the universe, the Towne Crier Cafe in Beacon NY. Jim rarely comes this way so this will indeed be a SPECIAL TREAT. Info at http://townecrier.com/
Then continuing in the AMERICANA vein, the Rockland-Bergen Music Fest will be held at Masonic Park in Tappan NY on Sat and Sun June 22 & 23, with headliners Steve Earle and John Prine as well as a full assortment of some of our region’s finest including Donna the Buffalo, James Maddock, Willie Nile, Joe D’Urso & Stone Caravan, Scott Wolfson & Other Heroes, Pete Mancini & lots more.

A message from Andrew:
The album is called That We Could Find A Way To Be and these new songs focus on some of the things I care about most – the complicated intersections of love, faith, loss and uncertainty, queerness and the search and struggle for understanding.
We are in the final week of a Kickstarter to help us fund the album and it’s been going really well; we’ve already made our initial goal and have set an ambitious stretch goal of $13,000 to cover art design, a couple videos, printing and (especially) publicity and promotion. Pre-order your copy of the album TODAY! You’ll get a download of the tracks in late June or July; plenty of time to learn the lyrics so you can sing along with us at the festival! Plus there are some other cool rewards that we’re offering as well so you gotta check it out. This is all so exciting! I’ll be performing all weekend at Falcon Ridge, accompanied by Anna Patton on clarinet and Dana Billings on keys and percussion. Hope to see you there. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! Have a great day,
