Jim Robitaille’s latest release, Sonic, continues to receive recognition from jazz media with a recent review from O’s Place Jazz Magazine.

In his review, D. Oscar Groomes highlights the strong musical connection between Robitaille and his trio, featuring bassist Tom Casale and drummer Chris Poudrier. The album includes eight original compositions and two jazz standards, showcasing the group’s chemistry, creativity, and dynamic interplay.

Of particular note, Groomes writes:

“There is a level of respect between the musicians that allows ample individual expression and seamless transitions.”

The review also highlights “Central Park West,” “All Blues,” and the album’s title track as standout selections.

Released on Whaling City Sound, Sonic reflects Robitaille’s distinctive voice as a guitarist, composer, and bandleader while demonstrating the collaborative spirit of the trio.

We thank D. Oscar Groomes and O’s Place Jazz Magazine for their thoughtful review and support of independent jazz artists.
