REMINDER – Planning to buy a 3 day ticket OR to VOLUNTEER this year, advance price deadline on tickets is July 10, just a few days away. Go to http://falconridgefolk.com/tickets/ for more info and ordering.

Still want to volunteer – Barbara, our Vol Coordinator says we still have open positions. Some crews have closed, but a few still need people. Go to www.falconridgevolunteers.com, there is a sign-up form, a list of crews with openings & what each crew does.

Volunteering is certainly NOT for everyone. All festivals need their paying attendee support for sure. That support pays for the gas in the tank so to speak but the volunteers ARE the gas in the tank that make it go. They are the life blood as well as the beating heart of any fest like FRFF. Any of our volunteers will tell you this inner circle part of the community is a very special place to be, it does mean several hrs work and likely missing some dancing, singing listening so check it out first. And for those of you still planning to sign up, please do it now. It makes it so much easier if we have a full crew earlier rather than later.

That’s it for now, feel free to Email me anytime at FalcRidge@aol.com

We look forward to seeing you on the hill this summer! 32 days to GATES OPEN! Thanks, Anne

Falcon Ridge Festival Update August 3rd, 4th, 5th

Falcon Ridge Festival Update August 3rd, 4th, 5th

Hello FRFFers,

Summer at last. We are so, so, so excited about our upcoming 30th ANNIVERSARY fest, now just  70 days away. We had a wonderful 3 day WINTER SALE in Feb chatting with folks on the phone (Sonny Ochs & I ) while selling 2018 fest tix and wanted to let you all know that we sold every single avail winter special tix, even had a small overrun printed. Over 500 total tix sold in those 3 days!!!

We are so thankful for this supportive community willing to commit to the fest before knowing a single thing about the lineup which by the way is now compete and up at: http://falconridgefolk.com/performers/  All are past alums from the past 29 wonderful years including Dar Williams, Tom Paxton & the Don Juans, Tracy Grammer, Greg Greenway, The Kennedys, Magpie, Kim & Reggie Harris, The Clayfoot Strutters, Vance Gilbert, the Slambovian Circus of Dreams, Laura Love, Hoopoe the Clowne and a slew of others.

Earlybird tix sales ended last week and we had a wonderful uptick on sales during that period too. Up 20% over 2017. Just finished mailing them all out YESTERDAY! Not to worry if you plan to buy later or even at the gate. We expect to have ALL TIX TYPES including CAMPING at the gate. The advance price deadline is July 10. All tix prices & ordering info up at: http://falconridgefolk.com/tickets/

Three terrific June events we want to share, after all Falcon Ridge is still 70 DAYS AWAY, and we plan to attend these as well. Coming up on Thurs June 7 at Symphony Space in NYC is the incomparable DEL McCOURY BAND. For over 50 years, yup, I said FIFTY, Del has defined bluegrass, attracting fans of folk, country, blues, and old-time music by the thousands. If you are a BG fan and have never seen Del,  or even if you have, DO IT NOW is our advice. Info at www.symphonyspace.org/events/month/06/2018

Then there is the American Roots Music Festival on Sat June 23 at Caramoor in Katonah NY, just off I-684. A family friendly, intimate fest, just one day & takes place throughout Caramoor’s 90 acres of grassy lawns, gardens & woodlands. Amy Mann, Ryanhood, Front County, Anthony da Costa, Valerie June & more. Amazing lineup! A contingent of FRFF staff and friends heading there too.

Another long-time fave is OLD SONGS, a family-friendly 3 day camping fest held at the Altamont Fairgrounds near Albany, June 22-24, chock full of Traditional, Celtic & World music & dance. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, wonderful vendors, CONTRA dancing, lots of daytime interactive workshops. Artists include Joe Jencks, Happy Traum & Jim Kweskin, Christine Lavin, Bob Franke, Gaslight Tinkers with Choc’late, John Roberts, Anne Hills, lots more. We expect to see many FRFFers there, plan to be there all day on Friday.

It’s opening day today at the 3 week long Kerrville Folk Festival too! Wishing them the best the water gods and goddesses can offer.
