The San Diego Union-Tribune has a great piece on this weekend’s MILESTONES: A Miles Davis Centennial Celebration, and tomorrow night our own Gerry Gibbs gets his turn.

At 8 PM, Gerry Gibbs & the Electric Thrasher Orchestra, with special guest Jeremy Pelt, take on The Music of Miles Davis, 1967–1975 — which should ring a bell around here.

Gerry explored that same remarkable stretch of Miles’ music on his Whaling City Sound release, Play the Music of Miles Davis 1967–1975 (WCS 047).

Sixteen years later, the music — and Gerry — are still going strong.
