Let’s take the wayback machine to 1988, shall we? It wasn’t the greatest year, to be sure. A bomb exploded in Pan Am Flight 103, over Lockerbie, Scotland. A U.S. Navy ship shot down an Iranian Airliner after mistaking it for a fighter jet. But good things happened, too. Washington’s NFL football team won the Super Bowl. “Rain Man,” “Mississippi Burning” and “Bull Durham” were some of the big movies.
And an album called “Copperhead Road,” with a Scots-Irish rocking title cut, dropped.
Thirty years later, Steve Earle and his band, The Dukes, are hitting the road to celebrate that album. The act stops at Harvester Performance Center on Thursday.
