Bonita Springs, FL — October 2025 — With the recent jewel robbery at The Louvre making global headlines, author Michael Zoglio’s novel Escape From Ground Zero could not be more timely. Opening with the notorious 1990 Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum robbery and ending with a hopeful vision of recovered art, Escape From Ground Zero weaves history, suspense, and redemption.

“The Gardner heist has fascinated me for years,” says Zoglio. “With the Louvre theft now in the news, a theme of the book — that art can become both a commodity and a casualty — feels especially relevant.”

Zoglio is donating 100 percent of his royalties to Undue Medical Debt, a nonprofit that purchases and forgives hospital bills for families in financial distress.

“If a story about stolen art can help raise awareness of this hidden issue, the return of masterworks so valuable to cultures throughout the world can be a wonderful outcome,” he adds.

A native of Rhode Island, longtime Pennsylvania resident, and now Bonita Springs, Florida local, Zoglio draws on his investigative experiences to create a vivid, morally charged narrative that bridges crime fiction and cultural history.
