O’s Notes: Pianist, producer, arranger Greg Murphy leads a trio with Obasi Akoto (b), and Steve Johns (d). Guitarist Mark Whitfield plays on three selections notably the upbeat “Geneva” that also includes shadowing vocals from Sy Smith. Murphy shines on a warm rendition of “I Fall In Love Too Easily”. Snap Happy has a variety of styles from vibrant tunes like “Equality” to more reflective songs like “Proximity”. “The Shadow of Lo”, “All God’s Chillun Got Rhythm”, and “Monk’s Mood” are also notable.
