Rhode Island jazz saxophonist Greg Abate has built an impressive career spanning more than five decades, earning recognition as one of the most dynamic players in modern jazz.

A Woonsocket native and graduate of the Berklee College of Music, Abate got his start touring internationally with Ray Charles and later performed with the Artie Shaw Orchestra. Since launching his solo career, he has released nearly two dozen albums and gained global recognition for his signature post-bop style.

In addition to performing, Abate is a dedicated educator and was inducted into the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame in 2016, solidifying his legacy in the jazz world.
