“A Place for Jazz”, a 1992 documentary by Richard Broadman, explores the music created at the famous and historic 1369 Jazz Club in Boston from 1984 to 1988. It includes performances from Joe Lovano, Steve Lacy, Mel Lewis, Ronnie Smith, Archie Shepp, Kenny Werner, and Whaling City Sound artist Ricky Ford.

The documentary will be screened at ZuZu @ Middle East Club in Cambridge on August 12th, 2022 at 8:00pm. It will open with a live performance of a quartet of Boston musicians, two of which have played at the original 1369 Jazz Club (Charlie Kohlhase and John Lockwood).
