GRAMMY-nominated saxophonist Eric Wyatt was the highlight of the inaugural Fenimore Street United Methodist Church Fun Day on Aug. 26.
“Hailing from Brooklyn, Eric’s musical journey is steeped in family tradition; his father played alongside jazz legends in Harlem, imparting his love for music to Eric,” said Richard Walkes, chair of the Prospect Lefferts Gardens Community.”
The Marion Art Center’s Unplugged in the MAC Gallery returns this fall with two new programs scheduled in the MAC’s Patsy Francis Gallery (upstairs). Dave Zinno will be on bass and is scheduled for Friday, November 17. Tickets for one set are just $12 for MAC members and $15 for nonmembers.
The 25th Rhythm & Roots Festival anniversary will be an epic celebration of music, dance, and local food. The festival always gives off a feel-good, laid-back vibe that attracts thousands back to Ninigret Park every Labor Day weekend. This is the year to come and celebrate the festival’s 25th anniversary, Sept 1-3.
The 25th-anniversary lineup is the most diverse yet, covering Bluegrass, Cajun, R&B, Delta blues, zydeco, soul, country, swamp rock, gospel and some music that defies all categories.
Steve Riley may have been sidelined by COVID last year and forced to miss his usual visit north to play at the annual Rhythm & Roots Festival, but the Grammy-winning musician will be back this year with a little something extra.
