The 29th Annual Falcon Ridge Folk Festival August 4-6.

For Immediate Release

The 29th Falcon Ridge Folk Festival takes wing the first weekend in August. Homegrown from a hillside gathering, the fest has become a yearly pilgrimage for many. Complete with a pre-fest Thursday locavore inspired Tastings and Farm Market, campers and day-trippers converge on its yearly Brigadoon-like setting on Dodds Farm in beautiful Hillsdale, NY.

Brimming with main stage concerts, workshops, hours of dancing, Activities 4 Kids, a delightful Family Stage, international food and crafts, there is something for everyone. The Dance Tent wakes to early morning yoga and grooves until 2AM Friday and Saturday. The fest is accessible and ASL-interpreted.

Palate pleasers include Caribbean curries, Thai noodles, hand roasted coffees, Mexican, Italian, middle-eastern & vegetarian specialties. Organic juices & good ole American comfort food too! Over 50 vendors ply their wares, much of it handmade or fair trade, emphasis on eco-friendly.

60’s Folk icon Eric Andersen, fest MVPs the Slambovian Circus of Dreams and Season 8 Voice winner Sawyer Fredericks are featured along with Tempest, The Gaslight Tinkers, Upstate Rubdown, Brother Sun, ZydeGroove, Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem and many others. Music runs the gamut from Celtic to Cajun to Blues, Bluegrass, Roots, Zydeco & more with the fest’s trademark singer/songwriters and Contra Dance bands front and center. A special tribute to the late Austin-based Red Dirt Music icon Jimmy LaFave who would have made his 7th Falcon Ridge appearance this year is planned.

Single day, 3 day and camping tickets are available as are senior, student & military discounts. Kids under 12 have free admission. Thursday pre-fest Tastings brings local food producers, wineries, distilleries & breweries together daytime followed by intimate evening performances at the Lounge Stage.

The fest begins at noon Friday August 4 with its critically acclaimed Emerging Artist Showcase. More info and tickets are at FalconRidgeFolk.com or 860 364-0366.
